Zagreb, 15th of December, 2010 -"The vocal soloists were selected among eminent Croatian musicians of high vocal capacities with a special preference for the music that orchestra usually performs. Next to instrumental soloists from the Big Band, the special guest stars were vokalna skupina Rivers, Radojka Šverko, Jasna Bilušić, Tina Vukov and Jacques Houdek. The strong criteria and selection of singers was made by artistic commission of the orchestra", noted Gerzina.
The Big band of Croatian Radio and Television conducted by Saša Nestorovic held its regular concert in the studio Bajsic as the promotion of its new Abum „ Veselje ti navješćujem“ published by Aquarius Records, The Croatian national Christmas carols in jazz arrangements included Veselje ti navješćujem, Djetešce nam se rodilo, Narodi nam se, Dvorani neba, Tri kralja jahahu, Hajdmo braćo sad, Oj, pastiri i Kyrie eleison and world classics Jingle Bells, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Joy to the World, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer i Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
Album and the concert were produced by Igor Geržina a saxophone player of the Big band. Arrangers were Ante Gelo, Ivo Popeskić, Damir Horvat, Luka Žužić i Igor Geržina. He stated that approach to writing arrangement for Big Band must include thoughts on the background of this ensemble, what it is and what it will become. The goal is to create a full sound of orchestra interesting to the audience and radio stations in wide range but at the same time insist on the quality of music and expression of the orchestra. Besides, I am convinced that arranger should always think of the particular orchestra keeping in mind the possiblilites of individual soloist and their affinities. The selection of other arrangers was logical because we wanted to induce fresh sound by giving a chance to a younger generation of arrangers. In that sense, I think that we did a great job.

Therefore, it is not in the function of a particular soloist, this time Big band was the one to carry out the idea and performance and it was the main star of the album.
The novelty regards the the combination of several arrangers. The reactions to that idea, even before the realization of the album were enthusiastic. Discographer, radio station editors, audience reacted most positively at the very idea of the christmas rearrangerd carols for the big band. As the producer and the Head of the project I lifted the criteria very high to the limits of great expectations. Thanks to the engagement of whole team, conductor Nestorović, members of orchestra, vocal soloists and sound engineers we succeded in fulfilling the criteria and took the quality to the next level.
I am convinced that this and future projects will influence the rise of the position in the Croatian television and also at the Croatian music scene. The compositions are everywhere at the radio stations and ther play and top lists while the singl „Veselje ti navješćujem feat. Jacques Houdek“ is also available on television stations and internet websites.
The concert was a outstanding music evening appropriate to the christmas spirit, hosted by inspirative Jasna Bilušić and the sound of magnificent orchestra. The audience and full Studio Bajsic has applauded wholehartedly and got the Christmas present – the performance of evergreen White Christmas.
